Destination

With its pristine beaches and superb scuba diving, Nha Trang is fast becoming a popular destination for international tourists. Chosen by Travel + Leisure for two successive years, Nha Trang Bay stands as the 29th most beautiful bay in the world.

The capital of Khanh Hoa province, Nha Trang City is a lively metropolis of sights and sounds. Abounding with natural gifts such as landscape and climate, and with its rich background in Vietnamese culture, Nha Trang is an idyllic escape from busy day-to-day life. The pristine bay is favoured with year-round calm warm waters, surrounded by archipelagos, islands, mountains and white sand beaches. Amongst its several famous islands, you will find Hon Rua, Hon Tre, Hon Yen and the Spratly islands.

Not always the lively, urban beach it has become, Nha Trang dates back to its discovery during the Cham Empire. Once a small fishing village, Nha Trang is now a stopover for annual yacht races, which begin their journeys as far away as Hong Kong.

It is thought that the name Nha Trang stems from the incorrect Vietnamese spelling of a geographical name in the Cham language of the site Ya Trang, which translates to Reed River.
